4 Mins read

After the launch of Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, we have almost every smartphone in 2018.  even after this, we have to ignore the OnePlus 6T but we have OnePlus 6. We are discussing Pixel 3XL vs OnePlus 6. OnePlus is a very smart company launching only two smartphones in a year but making a huge difference in the market. OnePlus 6 was launched back at the beginning of the year 2018 and it set the benchmarks for almost every phone during the year. Now, we are in the last quarter of 2018 and Google just launched their Pixel devices.

There is ongoing Amazon Great Indian Sale where you can buy the OnePlus 6 for Rs 29999. So it is a great deal but you should wait for the OnePlus 6T. This is a comparison between the phone launched in the beginning and at the end of the year.

Firstly before comparing let us know the features of these smartphones individually.

Pixel 3XL vs OnePlus 6

Before making a direct comparison(Pixel 3XL vs OnePlus 6) between these smartphones, let us discuss the similarities first. Actually, the Pixel phones are a replacement to the Nexus devices. But do you really feel are these replacement to the NEXUS? Being honest the OnePlus smartphones are doing the job of Nexus phones. The phones used to be flagship smartphones with the top class performance at the minimum possible price. And OnePlus is doing the same thing with their smartphones. In fact, now the POCO is also started doing the same job.

Both the smartphones Pixel 3XLvs OnePlus 6 have Notch-design and Gorilla Glass 5 protection in the screen. Two of the smartphones run on the Snapdragon 845 Soc by Qualcomm. 64 GB storage is common for basic variants of both these phones.

Let us talk about the main thing that is the price. Both the smartphones are in two different segments if you look at the price. But, they almost give similar specs except for a few things. OnePlus 6 is currently priced for Rs 30000 in Amazon. The actual price is Rs 34999 but now under the Amazon Great Indian Sale, prices are dropped. And as the new OnePlus smartphone 6T is about to launch soon, the price for OnePlus 6 might be fixed at Rs 30000. But the Pixel 3XL is priced for Rs 83000 in India. You will not get the brand value of Google with OnePlus but you will get two OnePlus 6 and another budget smartphone in the price of one Pixel 3XL.

It is 2018 and almost every manufacturer switched to the Dual Camera module. Even the budget segment phones under Rs 10000 are coming with dual cameras. But Google is still sticking to Single Camera. Last year when Pixel 2 was launched that time too people expected Dual Camera but with single sensor too, it turned out to be the best camera phone of 2017. Google optimizes camera software so well that even the single camera does the job that even two camera module fails to do. They work so much in the AI part, others need to learn.

The Pixel 3XL has 12.2 MegaPixel dual-pixel Camera in the rear with f/1.8 aperture and 1.4-micron pixel size with 76 per cent field of view. It is capable of shooting 4k videos at 30 fps and supports OIS & EIS. In the front, Pixel 3XL has dual cameras. The Primary Camera is an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor and another 8-megapixel secondary sensor. In the OnePlus 6, Camera modules are in reverse meaning dual camera in the back and single selfie camera. Rear camera includes 16 MegaPixel primary sensor plus 20 MegaPixel secondary camera. The selfie camera is of 16 Megapixels.

Wireless Charging

The OnePlus 6 has Glass back panel so we expected wireless charging but they didn’t give us. But Google gives you support for Wireless charging. there is Google Dot enabling then support for Wireless charging on Pixel phones. here Google is just way more ahead of OnePlus as the upcoming OnePlus 6T is also not getting the wireless charge.

The basis for performance is processor used and that is the same for both the devices. But still, there could be a difference as the Ram sizes are different. This is even not a difference maker but the Ram optimization plays a great role. The optimization between software and hardware makes a difference in performance part. Both the phones have stock Android but the OnePlus 6 has OxygenOS too. This can make a difference.

Face Unlock

OnePlus 6 has one of the fastest face unlock feature in it. Apple claimed that iPhone X has the fastest face unlock but no. OnePlus has it. While the Pixel 3XL has no face unlock support.
