IMC 2018: All about 5G in India from Reliance Samsung Ericsson Huawei etc.

Technology is at its highest point of growth and that lead to IMC 2018. A lot of things happened at the Indian Mobile Congress 2018 starting from October 25. Announcements from Mukesh Ambani, Samsung and Ericsson were the highlights of the first day. Reliance talked about data safeguards and 5G or 4G connectivity in India. Samsung is about to start 5G Trials in large scale in the coming months. Ericsson is exporting 5G ready equipments from India.

Mukesh Ambani and Data Safeguards : IMC 2018

At the IMC 2018 Ambani called data as the most important resource of new that shall be utilised with adequate safeguard. “It is important that we use this rich resource for benefits of India and Indians, with safeguards,” Ambani said.  He also said that the country will be fully connected to to 4G networks by the year 2020. Year 2020 will be the time Country shall be ready for the 5g connectivity.

Samsung’s Trial of 5G : IMC 2018

Samsung the South Korean Giant is one of the organisers of the IMC 2018. They also talked about the 5G networks in India and a major large scale trial to be started by them. Youngky Kim, President and Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics, said that 5G will be key to majority changes in India like Smart cities, smart factories and smart agriculture. He also added that Samsung will pave the way for 5G together with other leaders. At IMC 2018 Samsung is showcasing the 5G model and a lot of new businesses resulting from the 5G. They are major partner with Reliance Jio. Samsung built the 4G LTE with Reliance Jio and claim to cover 99% of the population. The Jio Samsung Network handles 90 PetaBPeta of Data everyday.

Ericsson Exporting 5G Equipment : IMC 2018

The Swedish Company Ericsson is also there in the IMC 2018. They are promoting the MAKE IN INDIA thing. Ericsson is exporting 5G ready Telecom Equipments from India to South Asian countries. In 2016, Ericsson started a factory in Pune with initial investment of $20 million for manufacturing. Nunzio Mirtillo, Head of Ericsson South East Asia, Oceania and India, “Ericsson has been in India for well over 100 years and we were the first company to start manufacturing telecom equipment in the country in 1994. Our state-of-the-art facility will continue to cater to the domestic market even as we commence exports to other markets in Southeast Asia,”. Ericsson is major partner with Bharti Airtel for 5G. They claim 5g to bring a lot of changes in people’s lives.

The first day was all about 5G technology. The IMC 2018 itself is based around 5G networks and stuff around that. Theme this year for the IMC 2018 is New Digital Horizons Connect, Create, Innovate. There are brands like Nokia, Huawei, Honor, Qualcomm, MediaTek etc still to talk at IMC.
