Vu, a television brand known for launching affordable TVs in the country has introduced three 4K Smart TVs running on Android Nougat. Based out of Mumbai, Vu has announced new ActiVoice lineup of Smart TVs in India in three different display sizes- 43-inch (42SU128), 49-inch (49SU131) and 55-inch (55SU138). The 43-inch model is priced at Rs 36,999, followed by the 49-inch model at 46,999 and lastly, the 55-inch model carries a price tag of Rs 55,999. And all the three models feature a 4K panel, which is a surprise, especially considering the price of the 43-inch model.
It I talk about hardware specifications, it has Quad-Core Processor with Mali T860 GPU, 2.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It runs on Android TV based on Android 7.0 and is upgradable to Android 8.0. There are two 10 Watt speakers powered by Dolby Digital, DTS. It has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports and a Ethernet Port. The company has also partnered with Netflix, Hotstar and ALTBalaji to offer certified VOD apps. You can also install games and apps from Google Play Store.
Vu claims that its new TVs are official and licenced Android TVs running on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be upgradable to Android Oreo in the future. This means, there’s no custom ROM or skin, on top of Vu’s TVs. These TVs actually run a stock version of Android that’s designed specifically for smart TVs. This means emphasis lies on running apps rather than on content to begin with. This means, Vu’s TVs will support the Google Play Store out-of-the-box which means you can download and install apps on them directly, something that the Mi TV 4 doesn’t allow at this point of time.
These smartTVs will be available exclusively from Flipkart and Vu’s flagship stores starting March 16th.
